Howie Rich's Recommendations

Every month I will make new recommendations for your enjoyment.

Dining:     Morandi Restaurant.  It's Keith McNally's Italian place.  Great food and Greenwich Village atmosphere.

Reading:   "Money Ball."  It's a book about baseball with some terrific insights.  However, no matter what your business or interests this book has great implications.  It's classic for not thinking in a box.

Investing:   With respect to investing, these are precarious times.  Large financial institutions are in deep trouble and a number of them have been bailed out by the government.  This is a time to be very cautious.  Capital preservation should be number one.

Health advice:    With varying degrees of certainty the following seems to prevent prostate cancer and I do all of these with most of them on a daily basis:

  • Curcumin.  You can get that in pill form from the Life Extension Foundation.
  • Vitamin E.  This should be all-natural including all eight kinds.
  • Cooked tomatoes with just a little bit of oil.
  • Soybeans.  I have edamame every day.  .
  • Selenium.  I freeze Brazil nuts in their shells.  Get them from www.thenutfactory.com and I crack two every morning.
  • Omega-3 from fish.
  • Green tea - this might also be beneficial for other cancers.
  • Red wine.  I drink a 5-ounce glass every night.
  • Broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables.  Very likely good for prostate cancer as well as a number of other cancers and heart disease.
